Objectives:
  • Identify and share best practices with staff.(C5)
  • Continue strategic reading practices across curriculum. (A1)
  • Provide/Organize professional development & Instruction Strategies. (A3)
  • Create a culture of reading. (A3)
  • Support the use of technology for instructional purposes. (A6)
  • Provide updated information about assessments to teachers. (A2)
  • Analyze data to drive instruction. (A6)
  • Support teacher use of technology for differentiation. (A6, A8)

Tasks:
  • SURF or monthly lesson using Teen Impact magazine (Rachel's Challenge)
  • Outline literacy strategies to be used school wide ( 3 questioning - 3 literacy) (November, January, April).
  • Research new trends and report at faculty meetings (November, January, April).
  • Gather and interpret data (benchmarks, SRI, etc), sharing at faculty meetings (end of terms 1,2,3).
  • Model use of technology for instruction at PD sessions or faculty meetings (twice)
  • Continue to develop and support individual tutoring opportunities with PDS students and mentors.
  • Research new trends for Smaller Learning Communities and their extension into upper grades.
